Top 10 Apps for a Hassle-Free China Trip 📱

10 Apps to Download Before You Land

Hey LeoSquad! 👋 Getting ready to explore China? That’s so exciting! To make your trip smooth and stress-free, you’ll need the right apps. I’m sharing my top 10 apps for China – the ones I can’t live without when I’m traveling there!

Here are my top 10 must-have apps for traveling in China:

WeChat: Your All-In-One Super App 💬

WeChat is like the Swiss Army knife of apps in China. Seriously, you can do EVERYTHING with it! Messaging your friends, paying for stuff, booking museum tickets… you name it! It’s a must-download before you even set foot in China.

Alipay: Mobile Payment Master 💰

Cash is becoming a thing of the past in China, and Alipay is the future! It’s perfect for payments everywhere, from street vendors to fancy restaurants. Plus, you can even use it as your metro or bus card in some cities! How cool is that?

Amap icon - Top 10 Apps for a Hassle-Free China Trip - Leo Trails

Amap: Your Ultimate Navigation Guide 🗺️

Getting lost is NOT fun, especially in a huge country like China. Amap is the ultimate navigation app. It gives you accurate directions, real-time traffic updates, and even lets you hail a ride. Seriously, don’t travel without it!

Didi icon - Top 10 Apps for a Hassle-Free China Trip - Leo Trails

Didi: Ride-Hailing Alternative 🚗

Sometimes Amap can be a bit pricey for ride-hailing — that’s where Didi comes in! It’s a great alternative and often cheaper. I always compare both apps to get the best deal.

I get this question a lot: you can only use the Didi app with a Chinese phone number. But don’t worry! If you don’t have one, just search for “Didi” inside Alipay or WeChat — you can book rides directly there using the same phone number you used to register your Alipay or WeChat account. Before hopping in, make sure to confirm the last four digits of that number with your driver to verify it’s your ride! 🚗🇨🇳

Mei Tuan icon - Top 10 Apps for a Hassle-Free China Trip - Leo Trails

Mei Tuan: Groceries, Essentials, and Food Delivery 🍜

Need to stock up on snacks? Craving some late-night noodles? Mei Tuan is your one-stop app for groceries, daily essentials, and delicious food delivery. It’s a lifesaver when you’re tired after a long day of exploring.

Eleme: Your Go-To Food Delivery App 🛵

When it comes to food delivery, Eleme is my personal favorite! It’s super user-friendly and the service is amazing. Plus, they have tons of options to choose from, so you’ll never get bored.

JD: Your Premium Shopping Destination 🛍️

Looking for high-quality items or some premium gear? JD is the app to shop! I actually got my BOYA mic here, and the experience was smooth and seamless. Highly recommend!
