Hey LeoSquad! Recently, I went to Batam for a wedding — and choosing the right hotel there is honestly not as easy as it sounds. Batam has quite a number of older hotels. I learned that the hard way. On my first day, I checked into a different hotel… and while taking a nap, I discovered bed bugs. 😵💫
Not exactly the welcome you want when you’re trying to enjoy a short getaway.
That SAME day, I packed everything up and moved immediately. No second chances. I switched to this hotel and honestly, it saved my trip.
Since then, I’ve been extremely careful about where I stay in Batam. So if you’re planning a weekend escape and wondering where to stay in Batam, here’s the hotel I personally switched to — and would confidently book again.

No pool or gym, but everything else is close by.
Within walking distance: JC Supermarket, BCS Mall, and Grand Batam Mall.
📍 Batam City Square Mall: This is the closest destination, located just 150 meters away. It’s a very quick 1-minute drive or an easy short walk from the hotel lobby.
📍 JC Supermarket: Since it is located inside the BCS Mall complex, the distance is approximately 200 meters. You can reach it in about 2 minutes by car.
📍 Grand Batam Mall: Slightly further but still very close, this mall is roughly 800 meters away. The drive typically takes about 4 minutes depending on local traffic.
Nearby spots to eat and hang out: A2 Food Court and the Penuin Area.
📍 A2 Food Court: Located directly across the street, just 50 meters away. It’s a 1-minute walk from the hotel and is the go-to spot for evening seafood and local hawker favorites.
📍 Penuin Area: The hotel is situated right in the heart of this district. Most major attractions, including the Penuin Wet Market and top-rated massage centers, are within a 300-meter radius (about a 4-minute walk).
At night, the area feels lively and safe ✅.
🍳 Breakfast Experience
The breakfast had plenty of options. I tried gado-gado, porridge, and some traditional Indonesian snacks. Everything tasted fresh — simple, comforting, and satisfying.
🛏️ The Room
The room is comfortable and practical. The bed is firm, with one strong pillow and one extra-large pillow (a big plus!). You actually sleep well here — which is all I really ask from a hotel.
👨👩👧 Extra Touches
On weekends, they have a kids corner — great if you’re traveling with family.
