How Much Does Sapa Travel Cost? My Day 1 Breakdown 💸

If you’re planning a trip to Sapa, one of the first questions you might have is: how much should I budget per day? To give you a realistic idea, here’s a full breakdown of my Sapa Travel Cost on Day 1—from transportation to activities—so you know exactly what to expect.

I spent around $100 on my first day in Sapa… but it all started with a sleeper bus from Hanoi.

This is one of the most popular and budget-friendly ways to reach Sapa. The bus is comfortable enough for overnight or early morning trips.

As we got closer to Sapa, the city slowly faded into mountains, fog, and endless greenery.

After arriving, we took a short taxi ride to the hotel for Taxi costs us 30K VND (~$1.20), then we checked into our hotel for the night.

After checking in, we headed straight to one of Sapa’s most famous attractions—the Glass Bridge.

We booked a private car for the trip (around 650k VND / $25 round trip), which made getting there much easier.

The entrance ticket costs about 482K VND (~$18.30), and walking on a transparent bridge surrounded by mountains feels like a completely different experience.

Visiting the glass bridge? It’s best to book your ticket ahead of time, especially during peak hours.

Then came the part that actually got me… we tried the Bridge Across the Clouds. Walking high above the valley was way more thrilling than I expected.

Sapa, by the end of the day, felt less like a place I’d visited and more like something I’d lived through 😄.

• Sleeper Bus: 395K VND (~$15)
• Taxi to Hotel: 30K VND (~$1.20)

• Private Car to Glass Bridge: 650k VND / (~$25 for a round trip)

For a full day that includes transport, accommodation, and two unique experiences, $100 is a reasonable budget—especially if it’s your first time in Sapa.

Of course, you can adjust this depending on your travel style:

• Go cheaper with shared transport or hostels
